DAF T1300 “Frog” Recovery Vehicle
In January 1963, this DAF T1300 “Kikker” made its debut on the road in the Netherlands. It was most likely purchased new by Shell and originally featured the “Shell Yellow” paintwork. Later, the DAF was converted into a recovery vehicle and subsequently operated by a small workshop in Brabant. After the passing of the original garage owner, his son commissioned a full restoration of the vehicle. The vehicle was completely repainted in red, and the brakes, vacuum pump, and other components were renewed. This restoration was likely carried out around the year 2000. The body is operated manually and the winch is driven via an intermediate shaft. The boom is extendable, and there is also a manual scoop. The DAF is fitted with a 6-cylinder petrol engine (Type: BA475), 2 storage boxes, and 2 hydraulic couplings at the rear of the cab. The odometer reading of 19,643 km is very likely original!
