With pride in our history

Dear reader, thank you for your interest in learning more about the history of our company. Andriessen Bedrijfswagens was founded in 1957 by our grandfather Jan Andriessen, which is where our name comes from. Jan Andriessen started the business by selling passenger cars from his home in Silvolde.

Since 1995

In 1995, our father Gerard Lubbers took over the company and established it at IJsselweg 49 in Terborg, where we are still located to this day. Since taking the helm, Andriessen Bedrijfswagens has become fully specialized in light commercial vehicles.

Each year, we sell over 800 light commercial vehicles and always have at least 150 vehicles in stock for you to choose from.
In the early years under Gerard Lubbers’ management (now 25 years ago), the company focused on the import and export of commercial vehicles both domestically and internationally. Vehicles were imported from places such as Florida (United States). After inspection, these vehicles were directly loaded onto the train in Emmerich (Germany) for transport to their final destination in Athens (Greece).

Following this period, the Eastern European market began to emerge, and trade-in vehicles from brand dealers were exported to countries including Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Georgia, as well as to destinations in Asia such as Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan. We have also exported vehicles to African countries such as Ghana, Egypt, Ethiopia, Senegal, Algeria, Madagascar, Sierra Leone, and many more.

The 2008 Crisis

At the end of 2008, the global banking crisis struck, and demand in these export countries suddenly collapsed. As a result, we had to shift our focus. Since late 2008, Andriessen Bedrijfswagens has not only concentrated on export, but primarily on the Dutch market.
From 2008 onward, we have strived to set high-quality standards for our vehicles, ensuring that every vehicle has a traceable history.

We certainly have not abandoned our export activities, as over the years we have gained extensive experience and knowledge in this area. This gives us a strong advantage, allowing us to make competitive offers for slightly older trade-in vehicles, benefiting both sides.

2021 and Beyond

Now, in 2021, it is our turn to take over the business from Gerard Lubbers, our mentor. We are approaching this with the same passion as our father, who led the company for more than 25 years.

A true family business since 1957—something we, Ruben and Jurriaan Lubbers, the third generation, are very proud of and continue to carry forward with dedication. We look forward to gaining even more experience and to furthering this family story together.

Of course, we would love to continue sharing all of our experiences, but we would probably still be enthusiastically writing next week about this wonderful industry—the automotive sector.
